CUJAH is looking for its next executive team for 2025–2026! Positions available:

Managing Editors

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Editor-in-Chief and the Executive Team;

  • Coordinate journal publication timeline, submissions call-outs, and adjudication process;

  • Ensure the success and continuation of the ‘CUADRO micropublication: edit submissions, encourage participation, review shows, foster relationships with wider artist community both at Concordia and in Montréal;

  • Work closely with the Creative Director to curate a vision for the journal and CUADRO 

  • Assist in the recruitment of editors;

  • Coordinate editors and contributors of the journal;

  • Contribute to the strategic planning and development of CUJAH.

Expectations

  • Must be reachable via Discord/Email/Text and respond within 48 hours;

  • Must attend all events and conference;

  • Must attend monthly Board of Director meetings and weekly check-ins with the Executive Team;

  • Must intend to take over as Co-Editors-in-Chief in 2026-2027;

  • Commit up to 7 hours per week + start in June 2025 (less hours during the summer, picks up in August). 

Qualifications

  • Reliable, collaborative, and resourceful;

  • Skills in time management;

  • Familiarity with Discord, Google Drive, and Zoom;

  • Excellent written and verbal skills;

  • Familiar with Chicago Notes + Bibliography citation style;

  • Enrolled as a Major in Art History is an asset.

Compensation

  • Honorarium: $1,750

Outreach Director

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Managing Editors, Creative Director, and Events + Conference Directors’

  • Manage CUJAH’s social media platforms (Instagram) and email;

  • Contribute to increasing CUJAH’s visibility + student outreach;

  • Draft social media written components with Creative Director;

  • Promote events, conference and workshops;

  • Contribute to the strategic planning and development of CUJAH.

Expectations

  • Must be reachable via Discord/Email/Text and respond within 48 hours;

  • Must attend events and conference;

  • Must attend monthly Board of Directors meetings and weekly check-ins with the Executive Team;

  • Commit up to 7 hours per week + start in June 2025 (less hours during the summer, picks up in August).

Qualifications

  • Reliable, collaborative, organized and resourceful;

  • Skills in time management;

  • Familiarity with Discord, Google Drive, Canva and social media management;

  • Excellent formal and verbal skills;

  • Enrolled as a Major in Art History is an asset.

Compensation

Creative Director

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Managing Editors, Outreach Director, and Events + Conference Directors;

  • Design the CUJAH’s journal publication;

  • Design CUJAH’s visual identity;

  • Design CUJAH’s website and social media posts;

  • Coordinate the publication of CUADRO posts with the Managing Editors;

  • Draft social media written components with the Outreach Director.

Expectations

  • Must be reachable via Discord/Email/Text and respond within 48 hours;

  • Must attend events and conference;

  • Must attend monthly Board of Directors meetings and weekly check-ins with the Executive Team;

  • Commit up to 10 hours per week + start in June 2025 (less hours during the summer, picks up in August).

Qualifications

  • Reliable, collaborative, and resourceful;

  • Skills in time management;

  • Skills in coding, website design, and publication design;

  • Familiarity with Discord, Google Drive, graphic design;

  • Attention to detail;

Events + Conference Directors

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Managing Editors, Outreach Director, and Creative Director;

  • Organize annual conference and curate theme;

  • Work with the Outreach Director to hire conference speakers (moderators and keynote speakers);

  • Work with Outreach and Creative Directors to promote events;

  • Conceive and organize useful workshops for ARTH students and CUJAH editors/contributors;

  • Ensure the booking of space and food for each planned event according to budget;

  • Contribute to strategic planning and development of CUJAH.

Expectations

  • Must be reachable via Discord/Email/Text and respond within 48 hours;

  • Must attend events and conference;

  • Must attend monthly Board of Directors meetings and weekly check-ins with the Executive Team;

  • Commit up to 10 hours per week + start in June 2025 (less hours during the summer, picks up in August).

Qualifications

  • Reliable, collaborative, and resourceful;

  • Skills in time management;

  • Familiarity with Discord, Google Drive, and Zoom;

  • Have attended an academic conference in the past is an asset;

  • Enrolled in Art History major is an asset.

Financial Director

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Editor-in-Chief, Managing Editors, and Events + Conference Directors;

  • Oversee annual budget and ongoing expenses;

  • Oversee the CUJAH’s bank account;

  • Optimize spending;

  • Manage reimbursements and honoraria payments;

  • Participate in grant writing;

  • Design following year’s budget plan.

Expectations

  • Must be reachable via Discord/Email/Text and respond within 48 hours;

  • Must attend events and conference;

  • Must attend monthly Board of Directors meetings and weekly check-ins with the Executive Team;

  • Commit up to 10 hours per week + start in June 2025 (less hours during the summer, picks up in August).

Qualifications

  • Reliable, collaborative, and diligent;

  • Skills in budget management;

  • Familiar with Discord, Google Drive, and Spreadsheets;

  • Familiar with grant writing and budget templates;

  • Enrolled in Art History major is an asset.
